China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on Thursday that the country decided to ease barriers for group tours of Chinese citizens to 78 countries, including the United States, South Korea, and Japan.
Notably, group travel to South Korea has been prohibited since 2017 as a result of rising tensions between the two nations following the deployment of Washington's Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missiles to Seoul.
Beijing dropped the ban on group travel to 60 nations in January in accordance with its eased coronavirus policy.
