Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday accused European countries of seeking to "undermine" the ongoing efforts by the United States to find a diplomatic solution for the Ukrainian conflict.
"Europe wants in every possible way to undermine the role of the US in resolving the Ukrainian crisis and does not want to resolve it on the basis of addressing the root causes," Lavrov told Russia's Channel One. He also raised the issue of Western countries' inaction on Kiev's drone strikes on Russian energy infrastructure. Moscow previously said these strikes violated the agreement to stop attacks on energy infrastructure.
Lavrov's comments came shortly after the White House announced Russia and Ukraine agreed to stop targeting energy infrastructure and committed to ensuring the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.
