Croatia defeated Morocco on Saturday in the 2022 World Cup third-place playoffs. The 2-1 win gives the country a third-place finish in the tournament for the second time in a row.
In the 7th minute of play, Josko Gvardiol opened the scoring for the Croatian side, but the Atlas Lions' equalizer came just 2 minutes later thanks to an Achraf Dari strike, only for Croatia to finally clinch victory just moments before half-time with a goal by Mislav Orsic.
The fourth-place standing is Morocco's best performance at the World Cup, as the country made history by becoming the first African nation to ever rank fourth in the championship's history.
