CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. has taken action to dismiss Delta Air Lines Inc.'s case against it, claiming the reasons the latter is seeking damages for were not included in the contract between the two companies, CNBC reported on Tuesday, citing a court filing from the cybersecurity firm.
According to the documents, CrowdStrike insisted that the deal the two firms signed featured a clause that regulates its liabilities and the amount Delta can ask for in damages. Furthermore, the company said, "Georgia’s economic loss rule specifically precludes Delta's efforts to recover through tort claims the economic damages it claims to have suffered."
Previously, Delta threatened to request compensation for the losses the airline endured during the global computer outage an update to the technology enterprise's security software caused earlier in the year. Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporation, which used CrowdStrike's services, insisted Delta refused help dealing with the issue.
