Britain's Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union David Davis said on Thursday that his country will take into account both its moral and legal obligations towards the bloc in its Brexit offer to the EU.
Speaking during a joint press conference with his EU counterpart Michel Barnier, Davis said the British government has been trying to establish if the legal obligations laid down by the Union are properly codified. The UK will meet its obligations, he stressed but added that these obligations have to be real. However, not all of them are necessarily legal and the government recognizes moral obligations, too, Davis stated.
Finally, UK's chief Brexit negotiator agreed with Barnier that the quality of the final agreement between Britain and the EU matters more than the amount of time taken to arrive at it.
