Bernd Lange (pictured), high ranking member of the European Parliament (MEP), stated that the European Union should file a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) over subsidies included in the Inflation Reduction Act by United States Congress.
"What the US is doing is clearly incompatible with WTO rules," Lange, notably the chair of the European Parliament's Committee on International Trade, told the Funke media group.
Washington's law on subsidies that are provided only for products made domestically has been met with concern and criticism by some of its closest allies in Asia and Europe.
