A "total siege" on Gaza doesn't align "with the international law," European Council President Charles Michel said on Friday during a press conference after the European Council meeting.
"Many leaders addressed this topic of the siege, but there is one thing very clear: there is a serious deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and that's why we feel that the EU should do everything... to help resolve this question," Michel told the press.
Moreover, he stated that the block wants to be "very determined" to have a "positive influence on the resolution of the humanitarian crisis." At the same time, he mentioned that the council took time today to discuss the two-state solution.
