Equities in Europe closed mostly higher on Wednesday, with investors looking at remarks made by European Central Bank (ECB) Executive Board member Piero Cipollone and Bank of England (BoE) Monetary Policy Committee member Megan Greene to give them a sense of the state of the economy.
In addition, market participants digested the Eurozone's consumer price index along with the United Kingdom's inflation and producer price numbers.
The DAX closed flat. At the same time, the CAC 40 surged 0.62% as LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE jumped 2.84%. The FTSE 100 added 0.35% with Anglo American PLC up 3.51% at the close.The Euro Stoxx 50 finished 0.06% down. ASML Holding NV was the worst performer, dropping 6.68%.
The euro traded 0.19% above the dollar at 5:32 pm CET, selling for 1.06387. The pound added 0.19% against the greenback to go for 1.24493 simultaneously.
