Stock exchanges in Europe opened largely with losses on Friday after the latest data showed a downward revision of the British gross domestic product in the third quarter, which appeared to raise concerns about a possible recession across the United Kingdom.
London's FTSE 100 dropped 0.16% at JD Sports Fashion plc plunged 5.23%. The CAC 40 slipped 0.08%, with Hermes International SA tumbling 2.39%. Frankfurt's DAX fell 0.06% and Euro Stoxx 50 went down by 0.30%. Both indexes were dragged by Adidas AG's slump of 6.26%.
The euro was flat against the greenback, changing hands at 1.10029 at 8:58 am CET. The pound sterling added 0.06% versus the dollar, to sell at 1.26950.
