FBI probing car ramming as 'act of terrorism'

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on Wednesday it is probing New Orleans' Bourbon Street's truck ramming event as an "act of terrorism."

"This morning, an individual drove a car into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, killing a number of people and injuring dozens of others ... The FBI is the lead investigative agency, and we are working with our partners to investigate this as an act of terrorism," the statement read.

Authorities have not determined any clear motive behind the incident and an improvised explosive device was found in the area. The suspect in the deaths of at least 10 people died following a fire exchange with police.
