Canada pushing to remove Trump tariffs in new US deal

UNSPLASH/RENAN KAMIKOGA

Canada still aims to remove all US tariffs imposed under President Donald Trump as part of a new deal expected later this month, Canadian media reported, citing Ambassador to Washington Kirsten Hillman.

Hillman, who also leads Canada's negotiation team, told The Globe and Mail she remains confident about ending the levies by Prime Minister Mark Carney's self-imposed July 21 deadline.

"That's our goal, that’s what we're fighting for," she reprotedly said.
