Fighter aircraft crashes near San Diego, no casualties

The San Diego Fire Department shared on Wednesday in a statement that emergency crews were going to the scene where a military jet crashed close to Shelter Island.

According to the department, the incident took place at 10:16 am PT, near the Kona Kai San Diego Resort, with two pilots on board.

A United States Coast Guard spokesperson spoke with Nexstar's KSWB/KUSI, revealing that both of the pilots were rescued after being ejected from the airplane and spending only around a minute in the water.
