The French Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Sunday condemning yesterday's drone attacks on two oil facilities belonging to Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia's national oil company.

In the statement, the ministry in Paris also expressed "complete solidarity" with the Saudi Kingdom.

"These actions can only worsen regional tensions and risk of conflict," the statement added.

Houthi rebels from war-torn Yemen claimed responsibility for the attacks and vowed to continue them, however, United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has accused Iran of being behind the strikes which are expected to reduce Aramco's oil output by 5.7 million barrels, or about half of what it is now, according to the Saudi energy minister. Iran has denied the accusations.
