France defeated Germany 73-69 in the first men's basketball semifinal game at the Paris Olympics on Thursday.
The game took place at Bercy Arena in France's capital Paris. After tying at halftime in a low-scoring thriller, the French team moved up a gear, winning the third quarter 23-17. However, Germany won the dramatic fourth quarter 19-17, but that was not enough to emerge as winners in the final score. In the French team, the best performer was Guerschon Yabusele, who scored 17 points, while in the German squad, Dennis Schroder was the only one with a double-digit score, after collecting 18 points.
In the final, France will face the winner of the game between the United States and Serbia, to be played later in the day.
