France triumphs over Brazil in basketball opener at Paris Olympics

France triumphed over Brazil 78-66 in their Group B men's basketball opener at the Paris Olympics, setting a positive tone for the host team as they continue their campaign in the tournament.

Brazil took an early lead and held a 12-point advantage in the second quarter. However, France responded strongly in the second quarter and extended their lead in the second half.

France will face Japan next on Tuesday.
