The French government has committed not to change the medicine reimbursement system in 2025, Prime Minister Michel Barnier's office confirmed in a statement on Monday.
Barnier held a phone call with National Rally parliamentary leader Marine Le Pen earlier in the day to discuss the differences concerning the social security budget. "Numerous requests have been expressed on this subject [medicine reimbursement]. Ms Marine Le Pen, on behalf of the National Rally, reminded the Prime Minister of this again this morning during a telephone conversation," the prime minister's office stressed.
Previously, National Rally leader Jordan Bardella warned that his party could back a no-confidence motion against Barnier's government if it fails to address disputes over the social security budget.
