G7 foreign ministers held a meeting on Friday during which they slammed Russia over its "continued war of aggression" against Ukraine and accused Moscow of "aggravating the global food crisis as a result of the war," the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, the ministers also "rejected Russia’s false narrative and disinformation on sanctions" and urged the country to "cease its attacks and threatening actions" and unblock Ukrainian Black Sea ports to allow food exports.

The ministers once again expressed "unwavering" support for Ukraine and vowed to provide Kiev with military assistance "as long as necessary." The officials also welcomed the European Union's decision to grant Ukraine and Moldova the status of candidate countries.
