Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah hosted a delegation of Hamas officials led by Khalil Al-Hayya, the deputy chief of Hamas in Gaza. The meeting took place in Beirut, Lebanon, and aimed to address the current situation in Gaza and the ongoing ceasefire negotiations.
According to a statement from the Lebanese militia, during the discussions, both parties deliberated on the recent security and political advancements in Palestine, with a specific focus on Gaza. Additionally, they also reviewed the support fronts in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq.
The audience comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed he approved sending a delegation of negotiators to discuss Hamas' latest proposal on a ceasefire and freeing hostages with the mediators from the United States, Qatar and Egypt. Earlier media reports suggested Israeli officials said the proposal is positive and allows the talks to move forward.
