Hamas' latest proposal presented to the mediators earlier in the day is positive and is expected to allow the negotiations to move forward until a ceasefire and hostage agreement is reached, two senior Israeli officials told Axios on Wednesday.
"Important progress has been made, but there is still a significant way to go with serious challenges," one of the sources said.
The officials explained that the Israeli negotiating team will decide in the coming days if it will start detailed negotiations with Hamas. However, they stressed that even if parties enter into detailed talks, they are expected to be "tough," and last several weeks.
