Member of the Hamas political bureau Husam Badran said on Friday that captives in Israeli prisons and hostages held by Hamas are not the "root cause" for the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Badran reiterated previous comments by Hamas representatives, stressing that a hostage deal cannot be reached without a sustainable ceasefire. "We are prepared for an all against all swap deal," he noted.
Furthermore, Badran confirmed that Hamas has been discussing Gaza's future with other Palestinian factions, emphasizing that the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are "integral parts of the Palestinian territories, and we must maintain our territorial integrity."
