The United Nations Security Council will convene a meeting on July 21 to discuss Russia's withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Britain's UN mission announced on Thursday.
This week, Moscow decided to suspend its participation from the grain agreement, stating that it will only consider rejoining if its demands are fulfilled. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Turkey and the United Nations to join Ukraine in facilitating food exports through the Black Sea following Moscow's withdrawal.
Moscow received backlash over its decision on the grain accord, with the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs accusing Russia of using "hunger as a weapon."
