The United States House of Representatives on Friday voted 316-94 in favor of pushing ahead four separate bills, including aid to Ukraine and Israel. The package also includes measures to reinforce security in the Indo-Pacific and a proposal to ban TikTok from the US.
The move means the House will have to vote four times on Saturday afternoon on aid to Israel and Ukraine, the Indo-Pacific measure, and the TikTok ban. Speaker Mike Johnson faced opposition from within his own party but received crucial help from Democrats to move up the $95 billion package.
"Ukrainians desperately need lethal aid right now. ... We cannot allow Vladimir Putin to roll through another country and take it," Johnson told the host of The Mark Levin Show while commenting on the importance of the package. "These are very serious matters with global implications."
