Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov condemned the recent assassination attempt on former United States President Donald Trump, emphasizing that it was evident to observers worldwide that his life was in jeopardy.

Peskov underscored Russia's stance against political violence and noted the widespread recognition of the threat to Trump's safety amidst legal and political challenges. "After numerous attempts to remove candidate Trump from the political arena, first using legal instruments, courts, the prosecutor's office, attempts to politically discredit and compromise the candidate, it was obvious to all outside observers that his life was in danger," Peskov said.

Regarding diplomatic communications, Peskov confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin currently has no plans to contact Trump in the aftermath of the incident.
