The International Court of Justice (ICJ) said it will deliver its advisory opinion regarding the legal consequences of what it described as Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories on July 19, according to an unofficial press release made available to the public on Friday.
In May, the ICJ, serving as the United Nations official judicial organ, ordered Israel to stop its military offensive in Gaza. The measure was a part of the genocide trial initiated by South Africa, which accused Tel Aviv of carrying out atrocities in Gaza during the ongoing war against Hamas.
Several members of the Israeli government, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, denounced the ICJ ruling to halt operations in Gaza, describing it as "antisemitic" and adding that Israel should push for the occupation of the Rafah border crossing in response.
