India said on Thursday that it suspended visa services for Canadian citizens amid the row between the two countries.
"Due to operational reasons, with effect from 21 September 2023, Indian visa services have been suspended till further notice," BLS International, which manages consular services for the Indian government and diplomatic missions, said, citing the Indian mission.
The tensions between New Delhi and Ottawa rose after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused India of potentially being responsible for the murder of Sikh Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada, which led to the two countries expelling each other's diplomats.
