Inflation in Tokyo at 3.8% in November

Inflation in the Japanese capital Tokyo reached 3.8% in November on a yearly basis, according to a report by Japan's Statistics Bureau on Friday. The Consumer Price Index increased more than expected, with forecasts projecting a 3.6% rise.

Meanwhile, the core inflation, or prices excluding fresh food and energy, stood at 3.6% year-on-year, also exceeding expectations. The core CPI increased at the fastest pace since 1982, the report stated.
