Iran accuses US of fueling Ukraine war and global 'terrorism'

Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir-Saeid Iravani condemned the United States and its allies in a letter to the President of the UN Security Council (UNSC), accusing Washington of 'prolonging' the war in Ukraine and instigating global terrorism.

Iravani said his letter was a response to the earlier accusations by the US, United Kingdom, and France against Iran of supporting terrorism and aiding Russia's war effort in Ukraine. Iran's UN representative attested that the provision of arms to Ukraine by the US and its allies "has prolonged the war in Ukraine and inflicted harm on civilians and civilian infrastructure."

"Contrary to the United States’ representative’s claim, it is indeed the United States, not Iran, that is the primary advocate and propagator of terrorism, both in the region and globally," Iravani continued, adding Washington is the "number one in sponsoring Israel, the most dangerous terrorist regime in the world."
