Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian (pictured) responded on Sunday to his British counterpart David Cameron's remarks regarding Iran's role in preventing Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.

"The Israeli regime cannot be allowed to commit massacres of women and children and genocide in Gaza and set the region on fire, while the stopping of a Zionist ship in the Red Sea is seen as endangering the security of this economic waterway," Abdollahian wrote on X.

This response comes amid reports of a potential coalition between the UK, the US, and Germany to target Houthi positions both on land and at sea, in light of an incident involving the US Naval Force and an attempted Houthi attack on the Danish container ship Maersk Hangzhou.
