Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei (pictured) said on Sunday that the second round of the country's talks with the United States on Tehran's nuclear program will remain indirect and that Oman will continue to act as a mediator.

"We are currently discussing whether the negotiations will be held in Oman or somewhere else, but Oman will continue to play the role of mediator in any case ... It is important to note that the format will remain indirect," Baghaei said in an interview with state TV and added that the talks will only concern "the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions."

Following the first round of talks on Saturday, both sides described the discussions as positive and constructive. The next round of negotiations will take place next Saturday.
