An 18-year-old Iraqi national was arrested in Vienna on Friday for allegedly assisting in a foiled plot to attack three Taylor Swift concerts in the city, the Austrian Interior Ministry said.

According to the ministry, the Iraqi individual is believed to be associated with the main suspect, a 19-year-old Austrian with roots in North Macedonia.

Earlier, local authorities discovered chemical substances and technical devices at the residence of the main suspect in Lower Austria soon after the alleged culprit had publicly declared allegiance to the current leader of the Islamic State group through an online account.
