The United States told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about its negotiations with Iran only after he arrived in Washington DC, Channel 12 reported on Tuesday.
Netanyahu allegedly accepted the unexpected short-notice invitation to the US believing the summit would be dedicated to the tariffs. However, he was told of the main purpose of his visit during a meeting with US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff. Reportedly, his opinion on the matter was the first thing Trump asked Netanyahu about when they met.
Trump allegedly promised that the US delegation led by Witkoff will keep Israel's demands in mind while negotiating with Iran; however, he did not promise that Washington will guarantee and ensure the so-called Libyan model and Iran's complete denuclearization. Later, during an appearance with Netanyahu, Trump warned that Iran will be in "great danger" if it refuses to cooperate in the upcoming talks.
