The recent Israeli military "counter-terrorism operation" in the northern West Bank has resulted in the deaths of 17 individuals. Among them, eight were killed in Jenin, five in Tulkarem, and four in Tubas, bringing the total death toll since October 7, 2023, to 667, WAFA reported on Thursday, citing medical sources. More than 30 have been injured.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed responsibility for the deaths of five "terrorists" in Tulkarem, including the leader of a terrorist network in Nur Shams named Muhhamad Jabber. The army also stated that they had eliminated nine Palestinians who were believed to be associated with resistance movements.
The Palestinian Authority had previously warned about the "dire" and "dangerous" consequences of the Israeli operation in the West Bank. It also accused the United States of being responsible for the killings in Palestinian territory.
