Japan expanded its sanctions against individuals and entities with ties to the Palestinian branch of Hamas to curb terrorist financing, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi (pictured) announced.
The list now includes Sudanese companies Zawaya Group for Development and Investment Co. Ltd., Larrycom for Investment Company, the Spanish organization Zawaya Group for Development Investment Sociedad Limitada, the Lebanese company Nabil Chouman & Co and two associated Lebanese citizens. Hayashi further noted that Japan intends to regularly assess and expand the sanctions as necessary to counter Hamas-related financial activities.
