Japan's total merchandise trade surplus landed at ¥584.5 billion in February, against last month's deficit of ¥2.76 trillion, the country's Finance Ministry said in its report published on Wednesday.

Nevertheless, the figure came in lower than expected. Exports rose by 11.4% year-on-year, slightly lower than expected, while imports fell by 0.7% annually, also missing estimates.
