British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau have agreed on Friday to intensify efforts towards reaching a trade deal between the two countries, Johnson's spokesperson stated.
According to the statement issued by the Downing Street spokesperson, the deal would "unlock huge opportunities for both" countries. The two leaders pledged to "redouble their efforts to secure" the deal "as soon as possible," it added.
The two countries reached a trade agreement in November 2020, while the current talks aim to widen the arrangement's scope.
