United States House Speaker Mike Johnson said he spoke with President Donald Trump Monday as he worked to secure support for the Republican funding plan ahead of a key House vote.

Speaking with CNN, Johnson described Trump as "very helpful" and said he advised him to "stay tuned."

Johnson went on to criticize House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries for urging members to vote against the GOP stopgap measure, arguing Democrats have "zero reason" to oppose it.
