Following the Supreme Court's decision against the Trump administration's attempt to end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) program, a federal judge ruled the administration must begin accepting new DACA applications.
Judge Paul Grimm of the US District Court for the District of Maryland ruled the program must be restored to its "pre-September 5, 2017 status."
DACA, introduced by former President Barack Obama in 2012, protects undocumented immigrants known as Dreamers that arrived in the US as children from deportation.
