Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov remarked on Friday that his country has no intention of making the dollar's stability shake amid the proposals of main economies using other currencies to trade, leaving aside the United States coin.
"Certainly, we are drawing our line not against the United States, not against the West. We are not the ones who want to threaten the dollar. The United States ceases to provide the role of the dollar, which was acceptable to everyone. That is the problem," Lavrov highlighted during a meeting with students in Moscow.
Moreover, Russia's top diplomat reiterated that his government is open to widening relations in associations like the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Eurasian Economic Union, BRICS, and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) with those who are "ready for this on the basis of equality and the search for a fair balance of interests."
