Deputy Mayor of Mariupol Sergiy Orlov declared on Wednesday that the city is under constant shelling by Russian troops, while 1170 people were killed.
"They are shooting and bombing the humanitarian corridor. That's the situation," said Orlov, calling at the same time for an immediate no-fly zone. He further added that the attack has been made using aviation and "multiple rocket launchers." Besides, he mentioned that the Russian army "mined the road and put in a checkpoint."
Regarding the humanitarian corridor, he also said that so far, out of 200,000 people, between 2000 and 3000 were able to go out on 21 municipal buses.
