Several Maryland election boards received bomb threats on Friday evening, while they were verifying and certifying votes after Election Day, according to the state elections administrator. Jared DeMarinis, an official with the Maryland State Board of Elections, confirmed that the threats prompted building evacuations but that canvassing will resume as planned.
"Cowardly threats...shall not deter us. You have failed. Our democracy is strong...every vote counts," he stated, expressing resolve to complete the vote count.
Previously, bomb threats disrupted election activities at multiple polling stations in Georgia on Election Day.
