United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (pictured) repeated on Wednesday a call to Senator Joe Manchin to become a member of the Republican Party.

"No wonder why Joe Manchin is uncomfortable on the Democratic side," McConnell said in an interview with Fox. "He would be a lot more comfortable on our side," he added, admitting he doesn't think that Manchin will decide to change parties.

Earlier during the day, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki downplayed Manchin's dismissal of President Joe Biden's economic agenda, saying that the two Democrats have "been engaging in good faith," and describing them as "friends."
