Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni (pictured) stated on Thursday that the cases of COVID-19 in the country are under control.
In her first year-end press conference since taking office as Prime Minister, Meloni commented on the pandemic emergency in China and how the European Union must take action at the bloc level to control the situation. Meloni's remarks come a day after Italy and the United States took measures to control the entry of Chinese passengers.
In that line, Rome declared that almost half of the travelers who passed through Malpensa airport (Milan) on two flights from China on December 26 tested positive for COVID-19.
