Meta Platforms, Inc. published on Thursday an updated version of its privacy policy, which it says should be more transparent and help its customers to better understand Meta's data practices.
According to the brief published on Facebook's parent company's official website, the new update will not allow Meta to collect, use or share data in new ways, and it includes further explanations on how third-party information sharing works. Customers will have more control over their privacy settings, which should enhance their experience on the platform.
It was further clarified that this update covers Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and other Meta products. Earlier this month, Meta announced it stopped recruiting new employees for a number of its teams.
