In an interview with Russian Tass news agency, South Korean President Moon Jae-in (pictured) said on Tuesday that although he is open to dialogue with Pyongyang, now is not the time.

Moon called North Korea’s latest weapons test “more serious” than previous ones and underscored his country would seek tougher sanctions against its neighbor. In order to put more pressure on the isolated nation, the international community must cooperate on the issue, while South Korea will “make efforts to find a comprehensive and fundamental solution” to Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile tests, he added.

Meanwhile, United States ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley called on Security Council members to impose tougher sanctions on the regime of Kim Jong-un and described its latest moves as “begging for war.”
