North Korea announced on Tuesday its latest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test was successful. Pyongyang said its Hwasong-14 missile flew about 933 km at an altitude of 2,800 km and hit the intended target after 39 minutes. The ICBM launch was ordered by the country's leader Kim Jong-un and has the capability to hit targets located anywhere in the world, according to North Korea.

Earlier, the United States military confirmed reports Pyongyang carried out another missile test and claimed the missile was of intermediate range.

United States President Donald Trump condemned the action on Twitter and expressed hope that China "will put a heavy move on North Korea and end this nonsense once and for all." Meanwhile, South Korea's President Moon Jae-in called for the United Nations security Council measures in response to Pyongyang's "provocations."
