NHTSA probes 112,000 Ford SUVs over seat belt failures

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Monday that it is investigating 112,567 Ford SUVs following complaints about faulty seat belt retractors.

The incident is related to retractors deployed unexpectedly, causing the belts to tighten and lock into place with a loud sound.

The inquiry involves 2019-2020 models of the Ford Expedition and its luxury counterpart, the Lincoln Navigator.
