Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Tuesday in a direct message to the people of Lebanon the killing of the presumed successor of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, Hashem Safieddine, in Israel's attack on Beirut last Thursday.
"We took out thousands of terrorists, including Nasrallah himself, and Nasrallah's replacement, and the replacement of his replacement," the prime minister said in a video address. "Today, Hezbollah is weaker than it has been for many many years."
"You now have the chance to save Lebanon before it falls into the abyss of destruction and suffering, like Gaza," Netanyahu added while urging the Lebanese to liberate their country from Hezbollah.
