North Korea conducted a new ballistic missile test on Friday, according to the Japanese government. The missile might have landed in the Sea of Japan, in the Japanese exclusive economic zone, local media said.
Japanese officials said North Korea launched a projectile that has been identified as a missile before midnight local time, NHK reported. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe confirmed the reports. Abe is set to convene an emergency meeting regarding the launch.
South Korean authorities also confirmed the launch.
