Austrian energy company OMV stated on Thursday that the amount of gas pumped through the Nord Stream pipeline has been restored to the levels delivered before the pipeline was shut off for maintenance. Currently, around 50% of the previously agreed gas deliveries are reaching Austria, OMV added.
Earlier, Italy's Eni said that Russian state energy giant Gazprom intends to almost double its supply compared to yesterday. The Nord Stream pipeline restarted pumping gas today after being shut for maintenance amid tensions between Russia and the European Union. EU officials expressed doubts the pipeline will resume operations, while Russia claimed Gazprom is ready to supply as much natural gas as needed.
