Crude oil prices plunged 2% on Wednesday after the Republican nominee Donald Trump declared victory in the United States presidential elections.
Prices of crude oil and other commodities also came under pressure as the strengthened dollar boosted their prices in other currencies.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for deliveries in December declined by 2.07% at 4:36 am ET to sell for $70.47 per barrel. At the same time, Brent dropped 2.01% for January 2025 settlements, going for $73.99 per barrel.
